Second higher education

Earn a second higher education degree at one of Kazakhstan’s leading universities — Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University!

Applicants who already hold a higher education degree (at least a bachelor's degree) and wish to obtain an additional higher education qualification are eligible for admission.

Benefits of Obtaining a Second Higher Education Degree

  • Career Change. After several years of working in a particular field, many professionals realize that their chosen profession no longer aligns with their interests and aspirations. A second degree provides an opportunity to pursue a new career path.
  • Career Advancement. Many positions require additional qualifications or expertise in areas such as economics, law, education, and other fields. Obtaining a second degree can open new opportunities for professional growth and leadership roles.
  • Personal Development. Higher education is a pathway to acquiring new knowledge and skills. A serious commitment to learning promotes personal growth, broadens perspectives, enriches previous experience, and inspires new interests for future development.

Applicants seeking admission to programs within the Field of Education “Pedagogical Sciences” are required to take a special entrance examination.

The application period and administration of the special examination for admission to Pedagogical Sciences programs take place from June 20 to August 20 of the calendar year.

The special examination is conducted in the form of solving a pedagogical case study and is assessed on a “Pass” / “Fail” basis.

Applicants applying to related fields of higher education that offer shortened study periods (except for Pedagogical Sciences programs) are required to take an entrance examination.

For applicants enrolling in shortened educational programs on the basis of technical and vocational, post-secondary, or higher education, learning outcomes from previous levels of education are recognized automatically.

Credits for transferable disciplines are awarded in accordance with the curriculum. The final grade for each transferred discipline is determined based on the average grade reflected in the academic transcript (supplement to the education document).

The average grade from the transcript is calculated and assigned as the final grade for each recognized discipline.

Admission to student status is conducted from June 20 to August 25 based on the formation of academic groups.
