On April 15, 2026, Kostanay Regional University named after Akhmet Baitursynuly hosted the International Student Online Conference on Applied Linguistics “Research. Opportunity. Language. Experiment – ROLE.”
The conference has been held for the second consecutive year in collaboration between the Department of Foreign Philology at Kostanay Regional University and the Department of English Language and Literature of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Biruni.
The event brought together undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students from universities in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The conference provided a platform for participants to exchange knowledge, ideas, and research findings in the field of applied linguistics, as well as to develop their research skills.
The working languages of the conference were English, Russian, French, and German, ensuring its international and multicultural character.
The conference featured two main components:
