INTERNSHIP OPENED THE DOOR TO SCIENCE

Mira Muratkyzy is a graduate of the Bolashak International Scholarship Program for scientific internships, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Philology and Applied Linguistics at A. Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University.

The Bolashak International Scholarship Program provides a unique opportunity for young researchers to enter the global scientific community and expand their professional horizons.

Mira Muratkyzy is among the scholars who have successfully completed an international research internship and are actively contributing to the development of international scientific cooperation.

In 2024, she completed a research internship at the Institute of Turkic World Studies of Ege University in Izmir, Türkiye.

The internship became an important platform for scientific research, professional development, and international exchange of experience.

“The international internship was not only a scientific practice for me but also a valuable learning experience that allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the shared spiritual values of the Turkic world,” notes Mira Muratkyzy.

As part of the internship, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between A. Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University and Ege University, marking a new stage in international academic collaboration.

Together with Turkish scholars, she published research articles in international journals and conference proceedings.

During the internship, the researcher participated in scientific and practical lectures, forums, seminars, and research expeditions. She also delivered academic presentations to master’s and doctoral students.

In addition, extensive work was carried out with archival materials, rare library collections, and fully digitized scientific databases.

Today, Mira Muratkyzy’s academic portfolio includes:

More than fifteen of her articles have been published in Scopus-indexed journals and in journals recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“Working in an international scientific environment broadens one’s research perspective and provides a new way of looking at science,” emphasizes the researcher.

The results of the internship have been integrated into the university’s educational process, while international academic cooperation has continued to expand.

Today, Turkish scholars regularly deliver lectures and professional development courses at KRU and serve as academic supervisors and international consultants for master’s and doctoral students.

Currently, Mira Muratkyzy’s research focuses on the shared intangible cultural heritage of the Turkic world, issues of national identity, and the transformation of folklore traditions.

Her studies examine the continuity between traditional culture and contemporary socio-cultural processes, modern interpretations of folklore texts, and the spiritual unity of Turkic peoples.

“The cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples is a spiritual foundation not only for the past but also for the future,” stresses the PhD scholar.

At present, an international research project is being developed jointly with Turkish scholars. The project aims to conduct a comprehensive study of the cultural and spiritual heritage of Turkic peoples, national identity, and historical memory.

Key areas of the project include:

In 2025, Mira Muratkyzy successfully defended her doctoral dissertation and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Today, she continues her active work in science and higher education, fostering international research partnerships and contributing to the study of the Turkic world.
