COMPETITIVE IN THE WORLD OF HIGH TECHNOLOGIES

A delegation from Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University, represented by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elmira Nauryzbayeva and Head of the Center for Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence Kalybek Maulenov, took an active part in the conference “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education.”

The event was organized within the framework of the Technical Assistance Missions (TAM) and the regional Erasmus+ Info Day held on May 21–22 in Astana.

The organizers included the Erasmus+ National Office in Kazakhstan and Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).

The Info Day brought together all leading universities of Kazakhstan, each presenting its own developments in the field of artificial intelligence.

Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University prepared a presentation of its own AI products, which are already widely used in the educational process and are equally beneficial for both students and faculty members.

Special attention was also given to career guidance initiatives for prospective students through the implementation of the AI-mektep electronic platform for school students.

AI-mektep is an online platform designed to prepare students for the Unified National Testing (UNT). Artificial intelligence acts as an AI mentor by analyzing each learner’s level of preparation and strengthening knowledge in the areas where additional study is most needed.

The platform is part of the university’s AI ecosystem, AI SANA, which also integrates the TutorKSU mobile application, services for admission preparation and learning support, tools for research in science, medicine, and agribusiness, as well as the “Campus and Management” navigation system.

The presentation was introduced to all conference participants, including distinguished guests such as Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, EU Ambassador to Kazakhstan Aleska Simkic, and representatives of educational authorities from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

As part of the AI project exhibition, each university was provided with dedicated space for an exhibition stand featuring Erasmus+ projects and AI initiatives.

Participants had the opportunity to explore the stand of Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University, receive detailed information about the university’s projects, and exchange contacts.

Conferences such as “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education” help universities navigate the common European educational space, keep pace with modern developments, and remain competitive in the world of high technologies.

It is encouraging that today, when school graduates across the region are choosing their future fields of study, the university has the opportunity to demonstrate its readiness to move forward with technological progress, master modern technologies, and create conditions for high-quality education that meets the demands of the time.
