Baitursynuly University and Dong-Eui University: New Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering

A dual-degree agreement has been signed between Baitursynuly University and South Korea's Dong-Eui University for the joint training of specialists.

The signing ceremony took place as part of the visit by the Kazakhstani delegation, led by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, at the Global Education and Innovation Summit in Seoul, South Korea.

The main theme of the summit was the transformation of education and science amidst the rapid pace of digital transformation and the development of artificial intelligence. In his speech, the Minister highlighted successful examples of Kazakhstani universities utilizing AI in educational technologies and methodologies. He also stressed the importance of establishing industry partnerships that expand opportunities for students and faculty members.

Dong-Eui is one of the oldest private universities in South Korea, with extensive experience in mechanical engineering education, and maintains close collaboration with the globally renowned automotive corporation Hyundai.

Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University and Dong-Eui University have well-established academic ties. A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the two universities aimed at training specialists in the field of mechanical engineering. As part of this memorandum, KRU students participate in an exchange program at Dong-Eui University, gaining valuable professional knowledge, undergoing internships, and improving their Korean language skills.

In the upcoming academic year, 10 more students from Kostanay will have the opportunity to study at Dong-Eui University. As a result of the successful collaboration between the two institutions, the quota for Baitursynuly University students has been increased.

Thanks to the dual-degree agreement, Kostanay students' opportunities will expand even further. This includes education in the Korean language, dual diplomas from both universities, training and internships at leading mechanical engineering facilities, along with prospects for pursuing a master’s degree in South Korea and prioritized job opportunities at KIA plants.
