A Scholar Who United History and Literature

Today, Almasbek Absadykov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of Philology and Applied Linguistics at Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University, celebrates his 60th birthday.

On this special occasion, the university community, led by Rector Seitbek Kuanyshbayev, extended its heartfelt congratulations to the distinguished scholar.

Colleagues expressed their sincere appreciation for Professor Absadykov's many years of dedicated service to the advancement of Kazakhstani science and higher education, as well as for his outstanding contribution to educating and mentoring several generations of specialists.

During the ceremony, Rector Seitbek Kuanyshbayev honored the юбиляр by presenting him with a traditional Kazakh shapan, expressing gratitude for his remarkable contribution to the development of scholarship and literature, his efforts to preserve and study the nation's spiritual and cultural heritage, and his longstanding commitment to mentoring young researchers.

Professor Almasbek Absadykov is a renowned scholar whose research successfully bridges literature and history, opening new perspectives on Kazakhstan's cultural and historical heritage. He is the author of more than 170 scholarly articles, several fundamental monographs on folklore studies and Alash studies, as well as eight educational and methodological textbooks.

His research is regularly published in leading international academic journals, demonstrating the high standard of Kazakhstan's humanities scholarship.

Under Professor Absadykov's leadership, numerous large-scale research projects and academic expeditions have been carried out to explore the history and cultural heritage of his native region. Among the most significant are "The Tobol Expedition: Following the Route of I. Falk" (2016) and "Great Figures of the Great Steppe: In the Footsteps of Keiki Batyr" (2017), both of which made a substantial contribution to the study of the region's historical and cultural legacy.

A special focus of Professor Absadykov's academic work has been the life and legacy of Akhmet Baitursynuly. Through extensive research based on archival documents and historical sources, he has introduced new findings into academic scholarship and significantly expanded knowledge of the life and work of the great educator and public intellectual.

Under his supervision, the research expeditions "Following the Footsteps of Akhmet Baitursynuly: The Orenburg Period" (2019) and "The Teacher's Path: Orynbayev School and the Kostanay Teacher Training Class" (2022) were successfully conducted. Their findings have become an important contribution to the development of Baitursynuly Studies in Kazakhstan.
