On the Development of Geological Science

A joint event organized by KRU and the L. N. Tolstoy Regional Universal Scientific Library was held as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Kazakh scientist, geologist, and statesman Shakhmardan Yessenov.

The scientific seminar “The Role of Shakhmardan Yessenov in the Development of Geological Science in Kazakhstan” brought together not only members of the academic community.

Invited guests included students of grades 8–9 from S. Maulenov Gymnasium in Kostanay, as well as second-year students of the “Geography” educational program.

Students and faculty members of the Department of Natural Sciences at KRU delivered presentations at the seminar.

Participants actively exchanged views on the scientific and creative legacy of the scholar and took part in the intellectual game “The Life and Work of Shakhmardan Yessenov.”

Staff of the scientific library organized an exhibition of the scientist’s works, as well as articles and publications dedicated to his life and contributions.
