From May 24 to June 24, Aktau hosts the XII Summer Universiade of University students of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This year, the Universiade program was reduced from 30 to 17 main sports. The winners of the XII Summer Universiade will receive vouchers to the XXXII World Universiade, which will be held in August this year in Chengdu (China) and the II Turkic Universiade.
More than 3 thousand students of 55 leading universities of the country take part in the Universiade.
The first champions of the Aqtau-2023 sports tournament have been determined. In this row are students of Kostanay Regional University named after A. Baitursynov.
In athletics, Arseniy Kalinin took 1st place in the 100-meter run, Ruslan Turumbayev won the javelin throw, and Laura Kinybayeva took 3rd place in the 1500-meter run. In terms of athletics, in which 18 universities took part, the KRU team ranks sixth.
