We welcome spring with uplifting news: the Winter Charity Student Ball at KRU raised 2,500,870 tenge to support children in need.
This achievement belongs to the entire KRU community.
In February, students, faculty members, and staff across the University’s schools and the Pedagogical Institute organized charity fairs. Additional funds were raised through ticket sales for the Ball itself.
“Events like these foster a sense of responsibility, unite us around our core values, and make a tangible contribution to society. At KRU, charity has remained not a one-time initiative but a long-standing tradition for more than ten years. The main goal of this evening is to help children in their fight for health. All funds raised through the Ball and the fairs will be transferred to the parents,” emphasized KRU Rector Seitbek Kuanyshbaev.
The total amount raised reached 2,500,870 tenge.
Thanks to these efforts, two children received financial assistance for medical treatment and medication:
- Khantore Yerlan from Kostanay (acute lymphoblastic leukemia)
- Toqtar Abilkasym from Lisakovsk (protein-energy malnutrition, participant in the “Life in the Palm” project)
The 2026 Ball was truly magical. The audience enjoyed performances in four dance styles:
- Classical waltz
- Caucasian waltz
- Kazakh waltz
- Winter (contemporary) waltz
In addition, students prepared theatrical performances that transformed the evening into a true stage production.
Each performance told the story of a particular country — through its culture, traditions, and the destinies of its people.
