In the best traditions

The Department of Natural Sciences at Baitursynuly University hosted a festive event titled "Törlet, Nauryz – the Beginning of the Year". The main focus of the celebration was on the ancient traditions of the Kazakh people.

The event was moderated by senior lecturer Marat Kubeyev and students from the "Biology," "Chemistry," and "Geography" programs. The students presented traditional Kazakh wedding customs — the matchmaking ceremony and gift exchange (kiit), as well as the bride’s farewell (kyzuzatu).

Particular attention was paid to the deep meaning and significance of each tradition. The students emphasized that these are not only part of historical heritage but also the foundation of social relationships and generational continuity.

They also performed folk songs and dances, organized national games, and showcased the rich culture of the Kazakh people. After all, each tradition reflects not only festive moments but also unity, friendship, and mutual respect!
