KRU students at the 30th Winter Universiade

The 30th Winter Universiade has begun in Lake Placid, USA. 1443 (832 men, 811 women) students from 50 countries around the world will compete for 86 sets of medals in 12 sports.

78 athletes will defend Kazakhstan's honor in 10 sports. The national team includes students from the A. Baitursynov Kostanay Regional University, Anastasia Rotova and Laura Kinibaeva, masters of sports in cross-country skiing, champions of Kazakhstan among youth, and members of the Kazakhstan national team.

Laura and Anastasia are 4th-year students of the "Physical Culture and Sports" educational program, both are multiple champions and prize winners of the Kazakhstan Cups.

Incidentally, the Kazakhstan national team achieved its best result at the 2017 home Universiade in Almaty. Then, Kazakhstani athletes won 11 gold, 8 silver, and 17 bronze (total of 36) medals. We hope that our athletes will also show excellent results this time. We will be cheering for our athletes! The schedule for the 2023 Winter Universiade broadcast can be viewed on the Qazsport channel.
