MEDIAtrip for schoolchildren

The Republican festival of student documentary films "KozQaras 2025" ended with an unusual quest.

Behind the master classes from practicing journalists, Kazakhstani directors, teachers of Kazakhstani universities and screenings of student works. The final fourth day of the program was eventful. The Department of Journalism and Communication Management organized a career guidance event "Media Journey for Schoolchildren".

The assembly hall was crowded in the morning. Participants and guests of the festival gathered here - schoolchildren from Kostanay, Rudny and districts of the region. Students from the fifth to eleventh grades came to KRU named after Akhmet Baitursynuly to participate in the media quest.

It was a fascinating journey through the stations.

The first stop was "Everything starts with the text". Here the children were met by a graduate student of the department and a correspondent for the newspaper "Our Kostanay" Yana Garkusha. Together with her, the guests immersed themselves in the basics of writing journalistic texts and working with words.

The next stop on the route was the "Reporterskaya" station. The schoolchildren, armed with cameras and voice recorders, became real reporters and went to the village of "Smutnoye", whose residents lost their memory under mysterious circumstances.

After a series of investigations, the final destination of the journey was the "Podcast" station. There, the young "journalists" shared stories and discussed life live on the podcast of second-year students Regina Khabibulina and Zlata Ivanova "The Excellent Student Syndrome".

At each stop, the schoolchildren completed tasks and received tokens for their activity. The one who earned the most tokens took home the main prize - "A Lucky Ticket to a Journalistic Future". This ticket guarantees support and accompaniment when entering the educational program "Journalism" in our KRU.

The media tour ended with a screening of documentaries in the Journalism category. Seven works were submitted to the competition in this category:

The themes of the films are different; the authors took modern social issues, sports, family values, and ecology as a basis.

Let us recall that the documentary film festival is taking place for the fourth year, bringing together students, journalists and directors. The goal is one - to share ideas and experiences.
