Masquerade: An Evening of Magic and Style

A student masquerade ball was held at Baitursynuly University.

The event was organized by the Jastar Ruhy student club and the Youth Policy Department of the university.

Nine pairs, representing the university's student clubs, competed for the titles of Mr. and Miss Masquerade. The contestants went through all stages of the selection process, including a video introduction, a talent performance, and a catwalk showcasing the style of an iconic movie or animated couple.

As a result, the titles of Miss and Mr. Masquerade were awarded to Anastasia Vaskina (1st-year student, "Visual Arts, Artistic Work, Graphics, and Design") and Danial Kulzhanov (1st-year student, "Marketing"). The winners represented the university's KVN League (a student comedy and improv competition).

The Vice-Miss and Vice-Mister titles went to the pair representing the Zhaidarman club – Sabina Yuldashova (3rd-year student, "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages") and Alisher Sharuan (2nd-year student, "Jurisprudence").

The special awards were distributed as follows:

• "Kórermen kózaıymy" (Audience Favorite) & "Eń jaryq beıne" (Most Vibrant Image) – Aruzhan Murzagalieva (1st-year, "Special Pedagogy") & Shyngyskhan Kambarov (3rd-year, "Physics").
• "Romantikalyq jup" (Most Romantic Couple) – Sanzhar Alpysbayev (4th-year, "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages") & Alexandra Gushcha (2nd- year, "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages").
• "Eń erekşe obraz" (Most Unique Costume) – Anastasia Vaskina (1st-year, "Visual Arts, Artistic Work, Graphics, and Design") & Danial Kulzhanov (1st-year, "Marketing").
• "Eń áserli oryndau" (Most Impressive Performance) – Zarina Bazhirova
• (1st-year, "Special Pedagogy") & Dauren Erkinuly (1st-year, "Music Education").
• "Eń nәzik" (Most Elegant Couple) – Sabina Yuldashova (3rd-year, "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages") & Alisher Sharuan (2nd-year, "Jurisprudence").
• "Eń úzdik khoreografıa" (Best Choreography) – Dana Dospanova (1st- year, "Veterinary Sanitation") & Damir Bolat (1st-year, "Mathematics").
• "Eń ónerli jup" (Most Artistic Couple) – Valeria Kondrina (3rd-year, "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages") & Erzhan Ulykbanov (1st-year, "Information Technology and Robotics").
• "Eń kreaktıvti jup" (Most Creative Couple) – Aruzhan Amirkhan (1st- year, "Biology") & Ersultan Kostanay (2nd-year, "Informatics, Robotics, and Design").
• "Kónildi jup" (Most Cheerful Couple) – Asemgul Sebepova (1st-year, "Judicial and Law Enforcement Activities") & Sultan Toymataev (1st-year, "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages").
