BAITURSYNULY CUP - 24

Over the weekend, the walls of the A. Baitursynuly KRUP hosted the traditional debating tournament Baitursynuly Cup - 24, which this time was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of K. Satpaev.

The tournament brought together 32 teams and 64 speakers from cities in Kazakhstan and Russia.

Players and judges participating in the tournament came from Astana, Kokshetau, Karaganda, Semey, and Chelyabinsk.

The tournament consisted of five qualifying rounds, after which the semifinals and final games took place. Speakers with less than a year of experience in parliamentary debates participated in the final of young teams after the fifth qualifying round.

The main themes of the games this time were egocentrism, politics, romantic relationships in the era of digitalization, and the right to autonomy of the body.

After processing the feedback from participating teams, Alexander Popov (Debate Club "Ahmet Urpaqtary") won the "Best Judge" award.

Vadim Kosolapov (Debate Club "Ahmet Urpaqtary") won the "Best Speaker" award based on the sum of speaker points for five qualifying rounds, and among debutant debaters in this category, Karina Kuseubaeva (Debate Club "Ahmet Urpaqtary") was the best.

In the final of young debaters, teams consisting of Dmitry Paksyutov and Karina Kuseubaeva, Alina Baylina and Azhar Zulkharnai (Debate Club "Ahmet Urpaqtary"), Vladislava Vaigel and Ruslan Shumsky (Debate Club "Akadem", Karaganda) participated, and after prolonged judging discussions, Karina Gafarova and Kirill Yashchenko (Debate Club "Ahmet Urpaqtary") won.

The main final included Nurdaulet Kosherbayev and Damir Magzumov (Debate Club "Molot", Kokshetau), Sofia Krauze and Olzhas Suleimenov (Debate Club "Ahmet Urpaqtary"), Vadim Kosolapov and Dilarakhanyam Dzhumabekova (Debate Club "Molot", Kokshetau).

The unanimous decision of the judges was in favor of the team consisting of Roland Mukhitazhan (DK GR, Astana) and Rustam Suleimanov (Debate Club "Akamed", Karaganda).

All the winners were awarded cups and cash prizes. We thank everyone for participating.
