Ybyray Altynsarin is an outstanding teacher!

Today, in the domed hall of the Kostanay Regional Philharmonic, the opening of the international scientific and practical conference "Educational ideas of Y. Altynsarin: origins, development, modernity", dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the Kazakh enlightener, took place. The organizers are Kostanay Regional University named after A. Baitursynov, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Akimat of Kostanay region.

In the plenary session, which was held in person, chaired by the President of the National Academy of Education named after I. Altynsarin Gani Beisembayev, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov and the Akim of the region Archimedes Mukhambetov made a welcoming speech.

The conference was attended by scientists from Almaty, Ufa, Kazan, rectors of universities of Nur-Sultan, Kokshetau, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, and guests of honor.

The work of individual sections was held in an online format, so scientists from Moscow, Mangystau, Shymkent, Orenburg, Aktobe, and foreign experts were involved in discussions on various educational issues.

The speakers said that modern education in Kazakhstan has traditions of continuity, which are consonant with the ideas of enlightenment of Ybyray Altynsarin. In particular, the education system is based on a number of fundamental principles put forward by the educator: the role of the state in the development of education, the accessibility of education for all, the versatile development of the individual, the education of active citizenship, democracy and orientation towards new technologies.

Scientists also noted that the pedagogical heritage of Ybyray Altynsarin is an integral pedagogical system, which reflects many pedagogical problems. Ybyray Altynsarin defended the humane principles and ideals of human education. His enlightenment ideas were aimed at overcoming the economic and cultural backwardness of his native people. He wanted and did everything to see his people among the civilized states. Altynsarin considered education not as an end in itself, but as the main means in transforming the social environment.

Recall that Ybrai Altynsarin is an outstanding educator of the XIX century, teacher, writer, folklorist and ethnographer, poet, prose writer and translator, author of the Kazakh ABC book. Thanks to his efforts, the first schools appeared on the territory of modern Kazakhstan, in which children from ordinary families, as well as girls, could study, which is not typical for that time.
