The Language of Media in the Digital Age

Who will write headlines and shape the structure of texts in the future—humans or algorithms? A research competition was held at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Baitursynuly University.

As part of the Methodological Month, journalism students discussed one of the most pressing topics of our time: the language of media in the era of artificial intelligence.

The discussion was lively and thought-provoking.

Participants expressed a wide range of views—from the idea that AI simplifies the work of journalists to concerns about standardization and the loss of individual style.

Five participants presented their projects. Each explored the topic from their own perspective through text analysis, examples from contemporary media, and reflections on ethics and the reliability of information.

WINNERS

The competition became a platform for dialogue about the future of journalism. As participants noted, artificial intelligence is already transforming the media landscape. It is important not merely to follow these changes, but to engage with them thoughtfully.
