Scholars from Baitursynuly University presented reports at the international symposium “Divânu Lugatit - Türk ve Türk Dünyası” in Turkey.
The event, dedicated to Mahmud al-Kashgari and his work "Diwan Lughat at-Turk," was held at Pamukkale University (Denizli). Scholars from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan participated.
Among them were the Director of the U. Sultangazin Pedagogical Institute, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Linguistics and Literature Kenzhegul Yesirkepova, and Acting Professor of the Department of Kazakh History Gauhar Balgabayeva. In their reports, they examined Mahmud al-Kashgari’s work as a historical source, presenting information about the phonetics, grammar, and lexicon of Turkic languages, the cognitive aspect, main genres of Turkic folklore, and the spiritual culture of the people.
Recently, Baitursynuly University signed two memorandums of cooperation with Pamukkale University, opening new opportunities for academic mobility and internships for students and faculty from both universities.
