The aim of the Olympiad is to identify and support talented students, develop their creative potential, and enhance their interest in research activities.
This year, the Olympiad was held at the Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University in Almaty.
KRU was represented by students of the Department of Natural Sciences — Nikita Zagorodnev (1st year) and Dias Kabatai (4th year). Their academic supervisor is Gauhar Baubekova.
The Olympiad consisted of two rounds. The first was theoretical and included creative tasks aimed at developing logical thinking, analytical skills, and a creative approach to solving geographical problems.
The second round was practice-oriented and involved working with cartographic materials and solving meteorological tasks.
Teams from 22 universities across Kazakhstan participated in the Olympiad. Based on the results, KRU student Dias Kabatai was awarded an honorable second place in the individual ranking.
We congratulate our students and the faculty of the Department of Natural Sciences on their successful participation in the Olympiad. We are proud of you!
