THE RESULTS OF THE REPUBLICAN NIRS COMPETITION HAVE BEEN SUMMED UP

Kostanay Regional University named after Akhmet Baitursynov by the end of 2022 became the base university for the II stage of the annual Republican competition of research works of students in the direction B013 "Training of biology teachers (5B011300/6B01505), which is held annually by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The competition commission was headed by Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Natural Sciences Olga Borodulina.

The competition is held to stimulate research and educational and cognitive activities of students.

The competition received 20 works by 22 students and 16 scientific supervisors from 11 leading universities.

The presented works touched upon various directions and problems in the field of biology. These are the systematics of higher plants, zoology, biological properties of plant extracts, genetic diseases, issues of conservation of rare and endangered species of plants and animals, human anatomy and physiology, microbiology.

A number of scientific papers were devoted to topical issues in the field of biological education, namely: the development of critical thinking in biology lessons, the use of group methods of work, STEM technologies, etc.

When evaluating scientific papers, the commission took into account: the scientific nature of the work, the effectiveness of the use of working methods, the methodology of the research, the achievement of the goals and objectives, the analysis carried out, the clarity of the conclusions obtained, the design of the work in accordance with the requirements, the availability of all accompanying documents.

After careful study of the works, the competition commission recommended awarding the winners in the following order:

1st place and 1st degree diploma from Aida Kydyrbekova for the report "Comparative analysis of some biological properties of Lilium martagon extracts grown in Turkey and Kazakhstan" (scientific supervisor - PhD in Biology Akgul Rakhimzhanova, Shakarim University).

The 2nd place was shared by Dilnaz Bazarbayeva for a report on "The specifics of the accumulation of chemical elements in the dental tissue of ancient and modern man" (scientific supervisor - Alexandra Gubaidullina, Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after A. Margulan) and Zalina Tugmoeva with a report on "Research of antimicrobial activity of weed plants of Akmola region" (scientific supervisor - Candidate of Biological Sciences, doctor PhD, Associate Professor Professorgulmira Asylbekova, Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after A. Margulan) and Zalina Tumgoeva with the work "Study of antimicrobial activity of weeds of Akmola region" (scientific supervisors–Master of Natural Sciences Aizhan Gibadilova, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Sara Zhumabayeva. Kokshetau University named after Sh .Ualikhanov).

And in the 3rd place are the students of Tatiana Bragina (A. Baitursynov KRU) Anastasia Meng for the work "Artemia sp. as a valuable biological resource of Kostanay region and methods of artificial cultivation and development studies" and Alexander Popov with the topic "Ichthyofauna of Uzunkol district and commercial fish species: materials, analysis and research methods".

Also, 3 diplomas were awarded to Madi Abzhanova, Samata Bakyttasova, Salavat Asentai "study of the functional state of students of different ages" (scientific supervisor –candidate of Biological Sciences, Berikzhan Oksikbayev. Zhetysu university named after zhansugurov) and Kyzzhibek Dyusembek "species composition and economic significance of plants belonging to the genus Asteraceae Dumort found in the Akmola region" (scientific supervisor –master of the estestvennykh Nauk Gulnar Khamitova, Kokshetau university named after sh.Ualikhanova).
