The A. Baitursynov KRU's Science Week has begun. As is known, Science Day in Kazakhstan is on April 12 and is timed to coincide with the birthday of the first president of the Kazakh Academy of Sciences, Kanysh Satpayev.
The week began with a round table discussion on the topic "Youth and science: yesterday, today, tomorrow" and an exhibition of scientific works.
Famous scientists from the university, Amanzhol Kuzembaev and Tatyana Bragina, talked about the role of science in higher education. Speaking on behalf of young scientists were the chair of the council of young scientists, PhD doctor Akbida Abdirkenova, and PhD tech sciences candidate, Pavel Shevchenko.
The university possesses immense scientific potential - currently, there are 16 Doctors of Sciences, 135 Candidates of Sciences, and 32 PhDs. This academic year, out of 3 PhD candidates who expressed a desire to defend their theses, one successfully defended his research, and two others are waiting their turn.
The university creates conditions for the further development of university science. There is a dissertation council, and both grant and contractual projects are implemented at the Institute of Applied Biotechnology.
Currently, 8 scientific projects are underway at the university. About 50 scientists from our university are developing projects thanks to state funding. It is pleasing to note that among them are both seasoned researchers and young scientists under 40.
