FIELD RESEARCH

Students from the Department of Natural Sciences at KRU took part in field research on the conservation of rare and predatory birds listed in the Red Book.

From May 3 to 14, students Serik Amangeldiev and Baurzhan Duzanov participated in a nature conservation project implemented by the АСБК (Kazakhstan Association for Biodiversity Conservation).

The aim of the project is to search for and register rare and endangered birds of prey listed in the Red Book.

Field research was conducted in the Zhambyl region. Students worked under the guidance of АСБЕ specialist Kudaibergen Amirekulov, as well as ornithologists Alexander Belyaev, Zhandos Tauanov, and Talgat Kiseev.

The students recorded the following bird species: little bustard, grey partridge, red-footed falcon, harrier, kestrel, black-bellied sandgrouse, desert crow, and others.

Our students gained excellent research experience and improved their professional skills.
