In the testing laboratory of the Research Institute of Applied Biotechnology, as part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of A. Baitursynov and the celebration of the Day of Science, Candidate of Veterinary Sciences Gulzhan Chuzhebayeva held an open lecture on the topic "The use of polymerase chain reaction in scientific research of students". The lecture is intended for undergraduates and 3rd year students of the specialty "Veterinary Sanitation".
In the first part of the lecture, the audience got acquainted with the mechanism and essence, the main stages of the polymerase chain reaction. The speaker focused on safety issues in PCR laboratories, the advantages of PCR in comparison with traditional methods. The second part of the lecture was held directly in the PCR laboratory, where students and undergraduates got acquainted with the materials and equipment and the rules of work in the laboratory.
During the lecture, many questions were asked, the students wished to undergo practical training at the NIIPB in order to master the methods of polymerase chain reaction, as well as to carry out research within the framework of master's theses.
In general, the lecture was interesting and informative, from which students learned a lot of new things as specialists and future scientists.
