Journalists from regional and national media outlets took part in a special press tour organized by the KRU.

This week, on June 28, media workers in Kazakhstan will celebrate their professional holiday.

Baitursynuly University decided to congratulate journalists in an INFORMATIVE, university-style way.

Employees of the Research Institute of Applied Biotechnology of the KRU conducted a demonstration launch of a unique drone that explored the bottom of the Tobol River especially for journalists.

Our scientists are implementing a project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan entitled "Creation of a system for operational monitoring of water resources and environmental control of hydraulic engineering structures in Northern Kazakhstan."

Specialists are exploring the bottom of the region's reservoirs using unique equipment—the APACHE 3 unmanned underwater vehicle/drone. The bright yellow vessel is equipped with a single-frequency echo sounder and a water parameter sensor to study the depths of reservoirs.

Apache 3 has already been used in expeditions to assess the bottom relief and water volumes of the Verkhnetobolsk and Karatomar reservoirs. Journalists learned about the interim results, goals, and details of the project during a press tour.

Almabek Nugmanov, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at KRU and project manager, noted that the research could greatly benefit the region. After the flood, the bottom of the region's reservoirs changed significantly. During the flood period, it is important to have up-to-date data and indicators at hand. This is where the research will help.

We would like to thank the management and specialists of the Emergency Situations Ministry for their support of our initiative.

For the convenience of the press, rescuers provided a boat so that filming could also be carried out on the water.

At the end of the meeting, media representatives were presented with letters of appreciation signed by KRU Rector Seytbek Kuanyshbayev.

Zhenis Zharlygasov, Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Digitalization at KRU, thanked the media representatives for their work and attention to our university and presented them with promotional gifts from Baitursynuly University and gifts from our partners.

We thank journalists for their attention to the work of our scientists. Have a productive pre-holiday week!
