KRU Students at “Akhinzhanov Readings – 2025”

Baitursynuly University students took part in the international archaeological conference “Akhinzhanov Readings – 2025”.

This conference brought together young researchers and students passionate about archaeology.

Among the participants – representatives from nearly every region of Kazakhstan, as well as colleagues from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

KRU was represented by three research reports – one collective and two individual – under guidance of historian and academic advisor, Dr. Irina Shevnina.

Over three eventful days, participants presented their research, visited unique historical sites, and exchanged knowledge.

Day 1

• Two presentations came from our laboratory: a team project by Madina Nurgalieva and Ivan Kovalchuk, and a solo report by Rustam Akhmetzhanov.

Day 2

• Unforgettable tour of the ancient settlement of Otyrar, visits to the mausoleums of Arystan Bab and Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, and regional museums.

Day 3

• Daniil Tupikov presented his individual report.
• Summing up, closing remarks, wrap-up presentations, and a fun intellectual warm-up for all participants.

We are proud to share that Madina Nurgalieva and Ivan Kovalchuk recieved the Best Report certificate among the entire delegation!

Additionally, Madina was invited to join the Summer Archaeological School hosted by the Margulan Institute of Archaeology.

The students also asked us to express their gratitude to the KRU administration for supporting and helping organize the trip.
