Dr. Zhang Peng, PhD, and Professor Weixin Shan from the Northwest A&F University (China) visited the experimental fields of Baitursynuly University. The foreign scientists evaluated the interim results of an international agricultural experiment.
- "The adaptation of crops brought from China to the conditions of our region has been successful," explains Dr. Asiya Ansabayeva, Associate Professor of the KRU Department. "Our Chinese colleagues confirmed that the experiment is progressing well, and the results from the first year of trials are promising."
In addition to potatoes, the Chinese scientists, together with their Kostanay colleagues, evaluated the crops of alfalfa, wheat, soybeans, corn, and rapeseed. These plants have also successfully adapted to the Kostanay soil.
