Decentrathon 4.0: Baitursynuly University in the Game

This past weekend, the Smart Center of Baitursynuly University (Qostanai Hub) hosted Decentrathon 4.0, Kazakhstan’s largest IT hackathon!

The event brought together over 4,000 participants from 20 cities across Kazakhstan.

Participants tackled real-world challenges in fintech, AI, blockchain, and mobile services, with top projects receiving opportunities for implementation.

The main goal of the competition is to help young people develop skills and test themselves on real business and digital transformation challenges.

In Kostanay, 45 teams (115 students) competed, including 20 teams from Baitursynuly University!

Future engineers and IT specialists from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Energy, and Information Technology tested their ideas in team projects, contributing to the digital future.

Team “Ctrl+Z” shared:

"This is our first time participating, but we are fully engaged. The topic is closely related to our profession, and there’s an exciting prize ahead, so we are giving it our all!"

Gulmira Dambaulova, Head of the Smart Center at Baitursynuly University, welcomed the participants:

"I believe in your great potential. The hackathon is not only about challenges but also about experience, networking, and teamwork. I’m sure we’ll achieve excellent results!"

The total prize fund is $50,000. Winners will be announced October 2–4 at Digital Bridge in Astana, where Kostanay teams will have a chance to showcase themselves nationwide.

Decentrathon is more than a competition—it’s a marathon of ideas and opportunities.

We wish all participants the best of luck, and to our Baitursynuly University teams—VICTORY!
