West Kazakhstan Zhangir Khan Agrarian and Technical University organized the 2nd unit seminar of the Module 4, “Transdisciplinary Research Methods for Sustainable Agriculture” of the Erasmus+ project "Enhancement of Postgraduate Studies on Sustainable Agriculture and Future Farming Systems" (SAGRIS).

Baitursynuly University was represented by Gulnara Yunusova, Oxana Dryuk, and Tatiana Chekhova, lecturers of the Department of Biology, Ecology, and Chemistry, as well as by the PhD students Orynbay Aliyev (Agronomy), Elena Simonchuk (Biology), and Akmaral Shaymagambetova (Veterinary Medicine).

During the seminar, lecturers—who had previously completed an internship at the German Institute of Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture (DITSL)—delivered engaging lectures and conducted training sessions on transdisciplinary research.

Additionally, all the participants visited a veterinary clinic and the the laboratory of ichthyology and aquaculture of Zhangir Khan Agrarian and Technical University. They also visited the “SAYAT” ethnotourism center (an equestrian center), as well as found out more about the projects, such as: “Services for the Maintenance and Deworming, Identification, Sterilization, Vaccination of Stray Dogs and Cats in the City” and “Providing Fish Seed Material to Fish Farmers.”

The seminar's program enabled PhD students to explore the topic of transdisciplinary research, while the lecturers were able to operationalize the knowledge they acquired in Germany.
