Topical Issues of Modern Journalism and PR

 "Topical issues of modern journalism and PR" - this is the topic of the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the first editor of the magazine "Aikap", one of the founders of the regional newspaper "Kostanay Tany", the 100th anniversary of which the newspaper staff celebrates this year, Mukhamedzhan Seralin.

The organizer is the Department of Journalism and Communication Management of the Institute of Economics and Law named after P. Chuzhinov.

The conference was held in two formats: traditional and online via the Zoom platform. The purpose of the conference is to analyze problematic issues in the media sphere related to changes in conditions and resources in society.

The conference was attended by students and teachers of universities in Kazakhstan and abroad, experienced journalists, advertising and PR specialists. Within the framework of the event, reports were heard in several areas. For example, the features of the development of PR and advertising in various spheres of society, new media in modern trends in mass communication, the history of Kazakhstani journalism as a factor of tradition, the language and style of the media, the genre and thematic development of the regional press.

Editor-in-chief Zhanuzak Ayazbekov spoke about the history of the newspaper and the prospects of the regional newspaper "Kostanai Tany", the first issue of which was published on June 25, 1922 under the name "Auyl". By the way, during its history, the newspaper has changed its name eight times.

Zh. Ayazbekov spoke about the significance and role of Mukhamedzhan Seralin in the formation of the Kazakh press. He is rightly called the first Kazakh professional journalist, who is also one of the founders of the modern republican newspaper "Egemen Kazakhstan". He dwelled on the current image of the newspaper and its place in regional journalism. Zhanuzak Ayazbekov says that it is necessary to form a culture of reading newspapers among the population.

The Department of Journalism and Communication Management traditionally organizes the International Scientific Conference, which raises topical issues of the media and where the exchange of views in the field of media takes place. And every year the boundaries of the event expand.

The organizers hope that the exchange of views between experienced journalists and students who have just entered the profession will be mutually beneficial and fruitful!
