Today we introduce the second winning project of the Young Scientists competition: “Adaptive Strategies Using Predictive Models to Enhance the Resilience of Agricultural Production under Climate Change. Their Development and Scientific Justification.”
The project was authored by Tansulu Akhmetkali, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Economics and Finance, Baitursynuly University.
What is the project about?
It focuses on reducing farmers' risks and protecting crops from the unpredictable forces of nature.
What will the researcher do?
Develop predictive models to forecast the impact of climatic factors on agricultural processes. These models will be integrated with monitoring systems for agricultural production.
Why is this important?
By identifying climatic risks in advance, effective economic strategies can be developed. For example, by forecasting drought conditions, farmers can adjust their methods for moisture conservation or select crop varieties that are more drought-resistant and better adapted to fluctuating levels of moisture.
