This online educational initiative is implemented by the faculty of the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Sciences. Its main goal is to introduce school students to psychology and help shape their professional interests.
Through this project, students still in school are given the opportunity to try themselves in the field of psychology, making it an excellent career guidance initiative.
The guests were welcomed by third-year students of the “Psychology” educational program. In an interactive area, they conducted practical workshops and various neuro-training activities for the participants.
Opening the official part of the event, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Sciences, Alibek Tabuldenov, noted that the number of applicants to psychology programs has been increasing every year, confirming the growing relevance of this field.
Head of the Department of Psychology, Gulnara Satkangulova, spoke about the engaging learning process at the department and presented the “Junior Academy of Psychology” project. The program is distributed to school psychologists, and classes for students are held once a week.
Graduates of the Department of Psychology, recognized professionals in their field and a source of pride for KRU, also addressed the audience.
Taras Nagaytsev, Clinical Psychologist at the Kostanay Regional Mental Health Center, spoke about the specifics of working with patients.
Zhanar Semenova, Psychologist at the Kostanay Regional Center for Disaster Medicine, introduced the audience to the features of psychological support in emergency situations.
Asem Zhansinova, Neuropsychologist at the “Baby” Children’s Center, shared her experience working with children.
Ninth-grade student of School No. 4 in Kostanay, Ekaterina Malenchuk, shared her impressions of the event:
“I really liked the event. I gained a lot of new information—not only about psychology but also about the university’s faculties in general. It helped me better understand where I can apply in the future. It was interesting and useful. Thank you.”
