DIAGNOSTIC FOCUS: Professional Interest

Psychology students of KRU are helping school students make informed decisions about their future careers.

The Inclusive Education Model identifies career guidance as a key component in supporting students’ professional self-determination, particularly for learners with special educational needs.

Today’s school students are the future applicants to our university, where the Center for Inclusive Education and Psychological Support serves as a practical training base for students.

Final-year psychology students from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Sciences at KRU conducted diagnostics of professional interests and aptitudes among students of Gymnasium School No. 18 in Kostanay.

During their practicum, the students were supported by Darkhan Mustafinov, a methodologist at the Center for Inclusive Education and Psychological Support at KRU.

The study is aimed at identifying individual characteristics of adolescents’ professional self-determination, as well as assessing the level of their readiness for making a conscious career choice.

At subsequent stages of the practicum, a series of developmental training sessions is planned, focusing on the formation of key personal competencies necessary for conscious career choice, including the development of reflection, responsibility, goal-setting skills, and stable professional interests.

This work is aimed at integrating students’ theoretical training with practical psychological support in an inclusive educational environment.
