Language Skills – A Key to New Opportunities

It’s a day of celebration at Baitursynuly University! Graduates of the summer semester of the Korean language courses, offered by the King Sejong Institute, have been awarded their certificates.

The opening of this Institute in Kostanay marked a new stage in cooperation between Baitursynuly University and South Korea’s leading Dong-Eui University. From the outset, the branch has been actively developing, offering residents of Kostanay the chance not only to study the language free of charge but also to immerse themselves more deeply in Korean culture.

Notably, close collaboration between the two universities has also led to the development of a dual-degree programme in automotive engineering, aimed at training specialists for the KIA plant in Kostanay. In 2023, twelve students travelled to South Korea under an academic mobility programme, completed their studies there, and today are successfully working as part of the KIA team.

Bakytzhan Narymbetov, Deputy Governor of the Kostanay Region, congratulated the graduates with the following words:

“The Korean language opens new doors for you – it gives you the chance to become part of international projects, to work for major companies, and to communicate freely with people from another culture. We are proud that such programmes are being implemented in our region. The success of Baitursynuly University graduates at the KIA plant is proof that education can truly support the economy.”

Rector Seitbek Kuanyshbayev of Baitursynuly University added:

“Our university strives not only to educate students but also to prepare them for international collaboration. Language is the key to understanding – and understanding opens new horizons. I wish our graduates never to stop striving for more!”

The official ceremony went beyond the presentation of certificates. A surprise moment came with a video message from Sanjar Saparov, a Baitursynuly University student currently studying in South Korea as part of the academic mobility programme:

“Thank you to Baitursynuly University for the opportunity to study abroad. I’m proud to represent our university here in Korea. I’m grateful to my teachers for their knowledge, their support, and for helping me realise my dream.”

These words were met with a round of enthusiastic applause.

Course instructors Lee Jeongmi and Lee Jihun expressed their pride in the students, noting that with each passing semester, they are becoming more confident and demonstrating excellent results.

Congratulations to all graduates!
