As part of the Panorama of Innovations program, on April 22, 2022, the Geography-Biology program of the U. Sultangazin Pedagogical Institute held a meeting with employers on the topic of “Studying the Problems of Natural Science Education”, which was attended by teachers of general educational institutions of the city and region, graduate students, and students.
The following issues were discussed in the meeting program: a catalog of elective disciplines, where the moderator was senior lecturer, master of pedagogical education Gaukhar Baubekova. Also, within the framework of this event, under the moderation of senior lecturer, master of geography Kunsulu Omarova, 2nd year master's student Marat Zholdybek held a master class on the topic "Application of statistical, cartographic data on the QGIS geoinformation platform in the school geography course."
He introduced the format of work on the geoinformation platform "QGIS", the principles of creating a cartographic product to reflect statistical data, as well as the creation of digital educational resources (DER) based on Earth remote sensing data (ERS) and the results of their processing. DER of such content can serve as a basis for conducting optional and in-depth classes in geography. The creation of a thematic collection based on satellite ERS data for teaching geography in secondary school is aimed at forming a noospheric worldview of a modern person.
The invited guests took an active part in the discussion of the results of the training, KED, in particular, they made proposals to include the following disciplines in the curriculum: “Geoeconomics”, “Geoecology”, “Geopolitics”.
All participants thanked the organizers for the opportunity to share their understanding of the training of specialists and exchange professional experience.
