The English conversation club is now running at KRU’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Information Technology.
It aims to provide a welcoming environment where the faculty’s teaching and support staff can practise English, communicate freely, share experiences and explore American culture and educational traditions.
Sessions will be led by Alexander Dvornikovsky, a lecturer from the United States who is working at the university through the international Fulbright Programme.
The first meeting focused on introductions and informal conversation.
Participants learned about the lecturer’s academic and professional background, his home university, and his impressions of living and working in Kazakhstan.
Together, they agreed on the format of future meetings and identified topics of interest.
The central idea behind “LET’S TALK!” is to create a space where participants can speak English without fear of making mistakes, gradually improve their speaking skills and build confidence in communicating.
Regular sessions will include conversation practice, discussions of current issues, an introduction to American culture and educational traditions, and opportunities to exchange ideas and experiences.
“LET’S TALK!” offers a chance to practise English, make new connections and discover opportunities for professional development.
