This year, a new specialty will appear at the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines. This is "Archival, Document and Museum Studies". Admission to the specialty will begin in the next academic year. Graduates wishing to enter the educational programs of archival, document and museum studies will be able to apply in June.
Sabit Shildebay-Director of the Central State Archive of Almaty, and Marziya Ganieva-Deputy Director, conducted an expert review of the educational program and shared their opinions with the teachers of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines of the A. Baitursynov National University of Almaty. Another similar expert opinion was received from the Presidential Archive in Almaty. The head of this archive, Aliya Mustafina, is said to be a graduate of our university. As is known, the Central State Archive of Almaty and the Presidential Archive are the oldest archive centers in Kazakhstan. Students of KSU specialty 6B020300-History, master students of specialty 7M020300-History and doctoral students of specialty 8D020300-History get a lot of information for diploma and dissertation research from these two archives.
We are confident that graduates of the new specialties will also pursue internships in both local and national archives and museums.
