As a part of the Month of Methodological Innovations, the Department of Economics and Finance at Baitursynuly University hosted a scientific and practical seminar titled "Financial Literacy: Issues and Directions."
Second- and-third-year students from the educational programs "Finance," "Economics," "Accounting and Auditing," and "Restaurant and Hospitality Business," along with faculty members were welcomed by the Head of the Department, Dina Kenzhebekova.
The moderators of the scientific and methodological seminar presented engaging reports. Professor Nalyma Sartanova explained the essence of financial literacy and highlighted its importance in the modern world. She also discussed the key financial challenges faced by different population groups in managing personal finances.
Kamila Makasheva, a second-year master's student, presented the methods and tools for improving financial literacy, listing educational programs, online resources, and applications. She also conducted a quick quiz among students.
During the event, the participants learned about the current state of financial literacy in Kazakhstan and abroad, discussed pressing issues and challenges, and explored the interconnection of financial, digital, and legal literacy, including the role of artificial intelligence in financial management. The presentations were insightful and highly relevant, emphasizing the growing importance of comprehensive financial awareness.
