“Ustaz × AI: The Digital Educator”

Today, A. Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University hosted the regional pedagogical forum “Ustaz × AI: The Digital Educator.”

The large-scale professional event brought together teachers, school administrators, and education experts from cities and districts across the Kostanay Region.

The forum served as a platform for open dialogue on the digital transformation of education, the exchange of practical experience in applying artificial intelligence technologies in teaching and learning, and the presentation of the results achieved by the KRU Junior Pedagogical Academy during the 2025–2026 academic year.

During the first half of the day, three parallel sessions were held: two master classes on the application of artificial intelligence in education and a workshop on inclusive education.

The master class “Transforming Science Education through AI Modeling” was conducted by moderator-teachers from Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools — Aimira Kurmangaliyeva, Stanislav Kozlovsky, and Miirkhan Ismagulov.

Participants explored practical AI modeling tools for teaching science-related subjects.

The master class “AI Platforms in Modern Teaching Practice: Creating Educational Content in Minutes” was delivered by Gulnur Dauletbayeva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Physics, Mathematics, and Digital Technologies of KRU.

Teachers gained hands-on experience with Google Gemini, Suno AI, NotebookLM, and GPT Builder, as well as the concept of vibe coding—creating interactive educational materials without programming skills.

The workshop on inclusive education, organized by the Center for Inclusive Education and Psychological Support of KRU, introduced participants to three specialized training laboratories:

The workshop was moderated by Tatiana Zueva, Head of the Center for Inclusive Education and Psychological Support and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.

The plenary session brought together all forum participants under the leadership of Elmira Nauryzbayeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.

During the plenary meeting, two presentations were delivered by practicing educators:

The highlight of the forum was the ceremonial presentation of the results of the KRU Junior Pedagogical Academy.

Five Academy initiatives were included in the national continuous professional development platform for teachers, “Ustaz,” confirming their relevance and alignment with contemporary educational trends.

During the ceremony, winners and prize recipients of six Academy competitions were recognized:

The results of the international “Tobyl Art” competition, held in March 2026 and bringing together talented participants in various fields of art and creativity, were also presented.

Letters of Appreciation from KRU were awarded to principals of schools ranked among the Top 10 based on participation and the number of prize-winning places in Academy events.

Certificates from A. Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University were presented to 104 graduates from 51 schools of the Kostanay Region who successfully completed the course “Introduction to the Teaching Profession.”

In accordance with the university’s admission regulations, certificate holders are exempt from the special entrance examination when applying to teacher education programs.

The forum concluded with a Job Fair organized by the Pedagogical Institute of KRU, bringing together graduates, teacher education students, and representatives of district schools.
