At the Smart Center of Baitursynuly University, Senior Lecturer Bakhtiyar Zharlykasov delivered a practical lecture on “Working with Popular AI Tools and Frameworks.”
The session aimed to introduce students to the modern AI ecosystem — including AI pipelines, multimodal generation, and the creation of a prototype RAG-based chatbot.
One of the most engaging parts of the lecture was a discussion about intelligent agents.
“An agent is a smart assistant that can write code or perform routine tasks on your behalf,” explained Zharlykasov.
When asked whether he had built one himself, the lecturer smiled and replied:
“Yes — about six months ago. It could log into a website, complete assignments, and even submit them like a real student.”
The story drew laughter from the audience and turned the lecture into a lively dialogue that students will remember for a long time.
During the Q&A session, aspiring IT specialists posed practical questions:
– “What’s the best local AI model?” → “It depends on the task and your hardware.”
– “Can you run a model without the internet?” → “Yes, if it’s installed locally without an API key.”
Zharlykasov encouraged students to experiment boldly and reminded them that “anyone can build their own AI agent.”
All lectures and workshops were held as part of AI Week at Baitursynuly University, supported by Qostanai Hub, the regional branch of Astana Hub in Kostanay.
