As part of the course “New Approaches to Teaching and Assessment,” third-year students of the Geography educational program from the Department of Natural Sciences participated in a master class.
The invited speaker was Marina Travkina, a geography teacher, teacher-researcher, Master’s degree holder, national-level STEAM trainer, and NXplorers program trainer from Secondary School No. 2 in Tobyl.
Within the framework of the Guest Lectures program, the experienced educator discussed with students the topics “10 Ways to Increase Motivation in the Classroom” and “Enhancing Teacher Motivation.” She shared STEAM-based teaching techniques, introduced elements of engineering design, and presented 12 tools from the NXplorers methodology aimed at developing students’ research and creative skills.
During the practical session, students used Canva and artificial intelligence tools to design and model interactive simulations for explaining geographical processes in school-level natural science and geography lessons.
These activities provided future teachers with valuable practical experience and modern pedagogical skills.
