Lecture in new format

Baitursynuly University history students set off on an exciting journey through the Middle Ages.

During the open lecture by a senior lecturer Akmaryl Yeraliyeva from the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, they learned how to read and analyze historical sources.

The class, titled "Early and Developed Medieval Sources," was held as a part of the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Sciences’ Month of Innovations. The lecture was structured around the  key educational principles, including problem-based and visual learning, scientific rigor, systematization, and evidence-based presentation. It also combined logical analysis with the lecturer’s creative improvisation.

The study of written sources gave the students of the 3rd year of the History course an opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of the Middle Ages, to learn about its culture, religion, politics and social life. Special emphasis was placed on helping students understand the overall structure of the discipline and its connection to other fields, while also developing their practical skills in analyzing medieval sources and assessing the quality of historical research.
