How to Work with Teenagers?

A seminar on an important social topic was held at Kostanay Regional University.

Inclusive approach: how to build effective work with teenagers registered with various supervision services?

This question brought together school psychological and pedagogical support specialists from the Kostanay district and officers of the Juvenile Police Department of Kostanay city.

The professional development seminar was conducted by Tatyana Zueva, Head of the Center for Inclusive Education and Psychological Support at Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University. The event was organized in the format of social partnership with the Kostanay regional branch of the Republican Public Movement “Zhanaru” (Against Corruption), led by Askar Zhabaev.

“The relevance of this topic stems from the need to foster legal awareness among the younger generation of Kazakhstanis. In addition to upbringing at home and school, a child is strongly influenced by the external and digital information environment. We live in challenging times and must be prepared to respond to the challenges it brings,”
— noted Askar Zhabaev.

Teachers and police officers maintained close communication throughout the interactive session, which focused on sharing professional experience. While their institutional roles differ, children facing difficult life circumstances need support from all services. The principles of the inclusive approach in working with such children are equally important for both educators and law enforcement officers — and were thoroughly discussed during the seminar.

The social partnership format has proven to be one of the most effective ways to promote the principles of inclusion. To strengthen this collaboration, the Center for Inclusive Education and Psychological Support at KRU is working to establish memorandums of cooperation with key regional stakeholders.
