Innovative educational programs will be implemented

At the Department of History of Kazakhstan of Ahmed Baytursynuly Kostanay Regional University, a methodological seminar was held to discuss the educational programs "6B01601 History," "7M01601 History," and "6B01602 History and Social Studies" with stakeholders-employers.

The seminar focused on the educational program "6B01602 History and Social Studies," which is planned to be introduced into the curriculum in the 2024-2025 academic year at the university. It is worth noting that this program is one of 30 innovative educational programs developed within the framework of the large-scale project Implementation and Strengthening of the Pedagogical Education Model Content with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the World Bank.

This project is being implemented in collaboration with the universities in Kazakhstan and top universities in Finland - Häme University of Applied Sciences and the JAMK University of Applied Sciences.

According to the specialist in higher education of the Project Management Group of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Botagoz Bermukhambetova, "This initiative is not just a project, it is evidence of our desire to change pedagogical education in Kazakhstan, based on the best international practices and meeting the unique educational needs of the country.

The educational program was introduced by the Professor GulbanuIzbasarova, a Doctor of Historical Sciences from K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University, who leads a group of Kazakh scientist-educators in developing EP.

The seminar participants noted that the History and Social Studies educational program is designed in accordance with the current requirements for the competencies of future teachers. The program is intended not only for forming subject-specific competencies but also for developing teachers' digital competencies, inclusivity in education, fostering flexible/universal pedagogical skills, and change management, a research approach in pedagogy, STEM education based on the concept of CLIL.
