Today, an extended meeting of the Presidium of the National Engineering Academy of Kazakhstan is being held in Kostanay. The rector of KRU is among the speakers.
The delegation that arrived in the region is headed by Bakytzhan Zhumagulov, President of the National Engineering Academy of Kazakhstan. During his working trip, he visited Baitursynuly University.
"I am an honorary professor at KRU and very proud of it," said Bakytzhan Tursynovich. "Kostanay Regional University is a leader in training personnel. I am confident that it will only get better."
The extended meeting was attended by representatives of the Kostanay Region Akimat, universities and colleges in the region, leading enterprises, and the Atameken National Chamber.
In his report, the rector of KRU spoke about the integration of education, science, and industry, using the example of our university's experience.
"Today, engineering education is at the forefront of global change. The challenges of modernity cannot be ignored," said Seitbek Bekennovich. "Regional industry needs engineers who are adapted to the modern production environment, versatile, highly digitally literate, and with strong practical skills.
With the support of our partners, we have managed to simplify the adaptation of students in enterprises, which has increased their chances of employment. Students study and work in a dual format at Allur, KIA, AGROMASH, KamLitKZ, Olzha Agro, and other enterprises.
An integrated educational program called "College-University" has been developed to help young professionals adapt quickly. In accordance with this, the duration of 17 educational programs has been reduced in the bachelor's degree program.
All College-University students have completed a course in artificial intelligence. The university is actively developing a digital educational ecosystem, paving the way for students to master modern technologies.
The rector also noted the successful experience of cooperation between KRU and foreign universities. In September 2024, we launched a dual degree program in computer science with the University of Minnesota Morris (USA). In September 2025, a dual degree program in mechanical engineering with Dong-Eui University (South Korea) will begin.
This year, we plan to open a modern KRU technology park. We are confident that it will give impetus to the technological development of the region.
