Third-year students of the "Jurisprudence" educational program in Baitursynuly University participated in an improvised mock trial. Although the session was staged, the students had the opportunity to learn from true professionals: Judge Anara Shaimurunova, Prosecutor Yerkin Kurmanalinov, and Attorney Bulat Abishev.
The Youth Resource Center organized the game as part of the “Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan” course.
During the trial, the complex “case” was examined under four articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan: “Fraud on a Large Scale,” “Legalization (Money Laundering) of Criminal Proceeds,” “Bribery,” and “Abuse of Official Powers.”
The insights provided by the judge, prosecutor, and attorney brought the educational process as close as possible to real judicial practice. According to the instructors, such practice-oriented events play an important role in student education, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of legal procedures and better prepare for their future careers.
