Protect Yourself and Your Future

Representatives of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Kostanay Region) met with students from Baitursynuly University.

The meeting was organised together with the university’s Office of Competence and Career Growth.

During the event, the representatives held a seminar for students of the Faculty of Economics and Law as part of the campaign “Start Discipline with Yourself!” — an initiative aimed at promoting legal awareness among youth and strengthening the principle of “Law and Order.”

The speakers included prosecutors Asel Almagambetova and Nurgali Akmetov.

In addition to a valuable legal lecture, there was a practical workshop on the e-service eOtinish. Students were shown a video tutorial and learned on-the-spot how to correctly submit requests to state bodies.

The session also addressed current online risks such as fraudsters, “droppers”, phishing and cyber-attacks.

Questions from students included:

– “Is the new article on ‘dropper’ activity a regulation about liability for transferring personal data?”

– “It is directed at curbing the illegal transfer of personal data. So far, no such cases have been recorded either in our region or across Kazakhstan.”

– “Is it possible to view statistics on legal offences somewhere?”

– “Yes — this information is available on the official portal of the Committee at gis.kgp.kz.”

The seminar was concluded by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Law, Aydar Baykin, who reminded the students:

“Any legal offence entails liability. Therefore it is important to be legally conscious, know the law and respect it. Only thus can you protect yourself and your future.”
