From March 10 to 13, 2024, Astana hosted the international Greco-Roman wrestling tournament among young men in memory of Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov (U-20). 260 athletes from national teams of 9 countries took part in the competition: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Croatia, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Russia.
Master of Sports in Greco-Roman wrestling Amangeldy Tair, a 3rd year student of the educational program "Physical Culture and Sports" took 2nd place in the 72 kg weight category.
35 athletes competed with Amangeldy Tahir in this weight category.
