The event was attended by Talgat Yeshenkulov, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Sylvain Guiguet, Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan; as well as representatives of the academic community and educational institutions from both countries.
Among the invited guests was Gulnar Zhanburshinova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Pedagogical Institute at Baitursynuly University, highlighting the university’s active engagement in advancing international cooperation.
The primary mission of the “Lumière” Foundation is to establish a sustainable platform for collaboration between universities and businesses in France and Kazakhstan.
The Foundation aims to promote academic mobility, support educational programs, and contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists in demand within the global economy.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the exchange of experience, the implementation of innovative practices, and the expansion of scientific partnerships.
Cooperation between France and Baitursynuly University has a solid and long-standing history dating back to 2004.
At that time, with the support of the French Embassy, a French Center was established at the university, and an agreement was signed with the University of Perpignan Via Domitia, which remains successfully in force to this day.
Over the years, around 40 students from the university have studied in France במסגרת academic mobility programs.
Faculty members teaching French regularly undertake professional development abroad, further strengthening the university’s international capacity.
The opening of the “Lumière” Foundation represents a natural continuation of this longstanding partnership and opens up new opportunities for students, faculty, and the wider academic community in both countries.
