THE RESULTS are impressive. THE PLANS provide new opportunities

Rector of Baitursynuly University Seytbek Kuanyyshbaev held a reporting meeting with the public, where he summarised the results of the work of the staff for the 2023-2024 academic year and announced plans for the future.

Seytbek Bekenovich began his speech by listing the key successes of the university. Among them:

• increase in the contingent of students by +10.3% (total - 8,362 people);
• 2 educational programmes of KRU are on the 1st place in the rating of NPP ‘Atameken’, 12 educational programmes are in the top-3, 27 educational programmes are in the top-10;
• 8 per cent growth in grant funding for projects;
• the list of dual degree programmes was enriched with two more: 7M08101 Agronomy (Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry, PRC) and 6B06104

Computer science (University of Minnesota Morris, USA). An agreement was signed with Dong-Eui University (South Korea) to implement a double degree programme from 2025.

Next year the university will continue to work in these areas. The following tasks are in priority:

• formation of a sustainable contingent for dual degree programmes;
• development of a long-term comprehensive roadmap for internationalisation of education.

This will allow us to strengthen our position in the global education market and open new countries and opportunities for our students.
