As part of his working visit to Kostanay, Presidential Adviser of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev visited the new square, where a monument to Mirzhakyp Dulatov was installed earlier this autumn.
The ceremonial flower-laying event was attended by educators and the administration of Baitursynuly University. The initiative was also supported by representatives of higher education institutions across the region.
Mirzhakyp Dulatov was a poet, writer, publicist, teacher, and public figure — one of the most prominent representatives of Kazakh culture and literature of the early 20th century.
He was born in 1885 in the Zhangeldy District of the Torgai Region.
On September 20, festive events dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Dulatov’s birth were held in the Kostanay Region.
