A new phase of the Roadmap implemented within the framework of the AMANAT party project “Қарызсыз қоғам” has commenced at Kostanay Regional University named after Akhmet Baitursynuly. First- and second-year students are undertaking the course “Fundamentals of Financial Literacy.”
The program aims to equip young people with practical knowledge in personal financial management, budgeting, and the responsible use of financial instruments—skills that are particularly essential in today’s economic environment. The training is delivered by certified lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Law, as well as financial experts from the Public Association “Association for the Development of Rural Business ‘Uly Dala.’”
The “Қарызсыз қоғам” project, initiated by the AMANAT party, seeks to enhance the financial culture of the population and reduce debt burden through education and practical training. The initiative has already reached hundreds of thousands of Kazakhstanis, and by early 2025, more than 780,000 people nationwide had completed financial literacy courses.
A distinctive feature of this new stage at the university is its comprehensive coverage: the training is organized across all faculties, ensuring full participation of first- and second-year students. Regardless of their field of study, every student has the opportunity to acquire essential financial knowledge and skills that will help them effectively manage personal finances, plan expenses, and avoid excessive indebtedness.
Faculty members and organizers emphasize the high relevance and practical significance of the course for young people, particularly amid financial market volatility and rising household debt levels. Similar educational initiatives are planned for each faculty throughout the academic year, creating a strong foundation for financial literacy among students.
G.S. Nurakhmetova, certified trainer and lecturer, noted:
“Today, financial literacy is not merely a useful competency but a vital necessity. Students must understand how to plan their budgets and responsibly use credit and financial instruments in order to confidently build their future and strengthen the financial resilience of society.”
The training program is implemented within the Roadmap of the “Қарызсыз қоғам” project and is aimed at comprehensive engagement of young people in developing financial competencies that are essential both in personal life and in their future professional careers.
